Soul Khan is our hero. We said that when we knew him as a battle rapper, and we stand by it. Now the long awaited debut studio album is here and the question is, is Khan as good in the studio environment?
Actually, that’s just me trying to be a writer. Of course he’s as good in the studio environment, he’s Soul Khan. You’ve heard the couple of preview tracks we’ve posted. The outcome was never really in doubt. The record is good, but that’s not all there is to it.
Back in the day, B. Real said “give me any record and I’ll flip it any style.” In 2010 Soul Khan is doing that. I was surprised at the range here. The thing I come away with is Khan’s respect and love for hip hop. This is a very old school record, where lyrical prowess is at the forefront. This isn’t a dance record, this is a proper hip-hop record. Soul Like Khan is real. I didn’t expect anything less from one of the realest MCs out there.
This is a free download. Go get it already.
